There was about 15 of us in wheelchairs who got out in the rain on Fri. for the annual Camp Craig Allen Halloween party! This was a big deal for some of us as it was the 1st time to get to see our peeps since the BBQ in June! Mike Shipka, and the staff at United Access in Carrollton, https://www.facebook.com/pages/United-Access-of-Dfw-North-Carrollton/1422997504651983?pnref=story, opened their doors to host this spooktacular event. A big thank you goes out to them!
We started out the evening getting our grub on! Awesome Mexican food was catered in, and we had a choice of beef or chicken fajitas! All the fixings to go along with that, and also chips, salsa, beans and rice! It was so good! I do not know who made these but for dessert there were these brownie bites with orange icing on them. Made for a perfect treat! Visiting with one another, catching up with old friends while meeting new ones was also top priority!
Seeing all the costumes, and the creativity behind it was the highlight of the evening!
Isn’t this the sweetest!! Dawn Cruzan dressed as the camp counselor showing some love to her boyfriend Michael! Best be careful that the camp authorities don’t find out what you’re doing Dawn, LOL
Wait one gosh darn minute! What is this about you Dawn hugging on Stuart Hall??? I am telling Michael!… Oh it is you Amanda Hall dressed up as Dawn Cruzan, CCA Prez! I didn’t recognize you at first! All is okay!
Amanda Hall dressing up as Dawn Cruzan, CCA Prez! She even wore her makeup and bra!! She had me fooled!
Lauren Taylor survived a shark attack in the outback! Look at the blood on her leg!
I was a judge on The Voice. It took my caretakers creativity to make the costume! As you will see on the next picture is my contestant (that’s my dad)! We had planned to do a little skit where he would sing, and I would turn around for him! That did not work out, and it is probably for the best!!
There is my contestant! He was going to sing some old country tune that I had never heard of before! I guess though if that way he messed up on the song I would not know, LOL!
It is so interesting to see what Justin Fetz is going to be from year-to-year! He isthe dialect from the doctor who TV show. It had lights on it and everything. It must have taken him forever to get it put together!
Michelle Sanchez as the day of the dead!! I wonder how long it took? I remember her telling me that it itched like crazy.
Michelle and her friend! Wish I could have lightened this picture more.
Racquel Flores as the prize machine! Another person that I am very excited to see year-to-year what she is going to be! Very creative!
Charlie Brown (Charlie Hughes) getting ready to put in a quarter to get a prize!
The girl from the 50’s!
Holly Cates as the talkative mime! Her husband was quick to point out the irony that for a mime she sure did talk a lot! We got to reconnect with each other and it was so nice! Had not seen one another in a couple of years!
So who do you think won out of these peeps? Check the picture below!
Going from right to left:
1. Justin Fetz as the dialect from the TV show Doctor Who
2. Racquel Flores as the prize machine
3. Lauren Taylor as the survivor from a shark attack in the outback
Congratulations again to the 3 winners!! Very creative stuff!! I have already started thinking about what I am going to be next year, so look out!
Who else was there? Well let me show you!
She’s got the eye of the tiger… ROAR!! Katie Perry Doesn’t have anything on this baby leopard’s cuteness!
That little boy does not like scared of the werewolf! Just look at his eyes as he looks like he could turn on him!
I was surprised to see all the little chittlins that came out!
It’s the vampire, the lady mummy, and their baby!! That baby looked so real, LOL!!
Look it’s Al Capone in his zoot suit (Owen ) alongside his witch (not literally, we love you Holly)!
This is not everyone, but all the pictures I had! After the costume contest there were door prizes! We all got the opportunity to take pictures in the wheelchair accessible photo booth!! The guys at Studio to Go, http://www.studiotogo.com, have been a part of several CCA events. I absolutely love it when they come as that is all wheelchair accessible. Before that I was a youngun the last time I got to take pictures in a photo booth. Here is one of the pictures that were taken from the photo booth! Thank you guys!
We had a from table discussion with me and my peeps with physical disabilities. While the kiddos got to play a game!
I had so much fun! If you are going to go out tonight be sure to have fun and be safe!
Rolling on, Stephanie
